3 Ways to Increase Your Email Engagement

Posted on August 11, 2021August 11, 2021

Many of us have dozens or even hundreds of unread emails piling up in our inboxes. Almost 75% of all marketing emails are never read by the customers. Whether you are an entrepreneur who owns a small business or a big corporation with thousands of loyal consumers, you need an efficient email marketing strategy.

Since we don’t want people leaving our emails untouched, here are three ways to create a perfect message that people will interact with.

1. Subject line is important

The subject line is one of the first things that people look at when deciding whether to open the email. Today marketers can easily personalize the subject line according to the customers’ preferences, the industry of interest and even location. So do it! Do not neglect the subject line next time you plan to write an email. Keep it short and sweet, call to action or ask your consumers a question, use a single word or incorporate some numbers to attract some attention. Don’t be afraid to get creative with it, and you will soon find your style!

2. Captivate with Video

Adding a short video or an animation to your message will leave a positive impression on your audience and help to improve the effectiveness of the email. Use video designs alongside the text but make sure it matches the identity of the brand and the message that you are trying to get your users to read. Today even if you don’t possess the skills to make a video or animation yourself, there are many websites such as Postermywall that have a pre-produced video template that you or anyone on your team can edit in seconds to fit your brand and ideas.

3. Don’t forget the Images

If you are still struggling with incorporating videos and animations in your message, or if videos don’t correspond with your brand vision, you must refer to using images. Visual content can help the recipient to better understand the email and the information behind it. It is also known that people love seeing images in emails as it stimulates their interest in the topic. If you don’t have time to take pictures yourself, no worries! You can either use free stock images from websites like Unsplash, or you can create your images by editing ready-made design templates on websites like Canva or Postermywall

Don’t be afraid to try incorporating new ideas when sending out your next email. Email marketing can be challenging, and it might seem difficult to stand out in an inbox flooded with emails. But if you try these techniques and stay consistent, you will end up boosting your email engagement and increasing email open rates.
