I am sitting on a coach intrigued by whether health professionals can incorporate digital marketing and how that could help them reach more customers, especially those offering private services or rather small to medium enterprises.
What are health professionals?
Human health is maintained by health professionals who use evidence-based medicine and compassionate care to apply the concepts and processes of evidence-based medicine. Human illness, injury, and other physical and mental disabilities are studied, diagnosed, treated, and prevented by health professionals in accordance with the needs of the people they serve.
Health professionals advise on or implement preventive and curative interventions, as well as promote health, with the ultimate goal of meeting individual and population health needs and expectations, and improving population health outcomes. In order to increase evidence-based health care, they also undertake research and refine or invent concepts, theories, and operational procedures.
What is digital marketing?
Digital marketing is a form of marketing that offers products and services with the use of the internet and online-based digital technology such as desktop computers, mobile phones, as well as other digital media and platforms.
In simpler words, digital marketing refers to promoting your product or services through ads found on the internet, social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc) with the aim of not only gaining more customers and increasing sales but also creating brand loyalty.
How can digital marketing help health professionals?
Easy customer engagement
Firstly, the way potential patients look for a healthcare provider is changing thanks to the internet and social media networks. This means that more patients and/or customers are online now more than they used to in the past. Plus it will be easier to communicate with your patients in an effective manner.
According to Statista, 59.5% of people in 2021 were active on the internet, which is an increase from the 54% that was recorded by another survey in 2016. This proves that in order for private health professionals to reach more patients, they need to have digital marketing strategies that attract the audience that is already on the internet and in need of health care.
Secondly, Not every clinic has an efficient marketing budget. Smaller businesses appear to have the most difficulty allocating funding for marketing initiatives, making competition appear unfair. Fortunately, digital marketing is cost-effective, this means that not a lot of money is needed in order to create posts, podcasts, and blogs about your private clinic and the services and products it offers.
Brand Development and Loyalty
Lastly, Branding is critical to your medical practice’s long-term success. Thus, it would be advisable to develop and improve your online reputation through attractive and effective digital marketing strategies. A health professional may implement his/her own strategies or get an affordable firm that offers different digital marketing strategies and solutions like IIDM.
In conclusion, it would be very helpful for health professionals to incorporate digital marketing strategies in their practices especially nowadays where Covid-19 has restricted a lot of physical consultations with the aim of improving health care services provided in France and also to gain from the many benefits that come with it since we are living in a technologically advanced world.
