Marketing Strategy for Podcasting Business

Every day the number of podcast subscribers is increasing all over the world. There are several reasons that make these digital audio files popular, such as being accessible by everyone with a variety of topics. Nowadays, starting your podcast is easy if you have the topic and knowledge. You’ll be recognized as an expert in your field if you can get enough listeners and network connections. People will notice the interest in your podcast and turn to you for advice, comments, and ideas. But how to get those listeners, subscribers? What marketing strategy can be helpful in this regard?

 1. Analyze your current situation

It is obvious that if you want to create podcasts, you have to have enough background information about the subject, but being informed can not be enough to achieve better outcomes. Analyze how you are currently doing, in what parts you need improvements. Develop a marketing plan and you can check the number of engagements before and a few months later implementing the marketing strategy.

2. Set goals

Podcasting means to communicate with people, to share your opinions, thoughts about any given topic. Successful podcasting can be a great tool to make money. The second step is setting goals. Set goals for a number of subscribers, views, interactions. These goals can be daily, monthly, or even yearly. In addition to this, you can set short-term or long-term goals for your business, such as getting 200 subscribers combined on all social media platforms each month. Your target can also be long-term (6 or more months ahead).

  • The short-term goal can also be getting 500 downloads for a month, hitting 10,000 views in 3 months.
  • The long-term goal of podcasting can be launching an episode with a guest expert in that field in 6 months.

3. Be active on different social media platforms

This way you will be able to get more listeners who are interested in your topic. Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and other platforms are available for podcast creators to engage with more people and reach their targets. Additionally, promote your product on social media. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook are great tools to attract an audience to your podcasts. Promote some clips, parts from your podcast to increase the interest of your followers. Post your podcast with some related tags to gain more views.

  4. SEO is your friend!

For your podcasts to appear when your topic is searched making great content is not the only thing. Search engine optimization increases exposure to your product. A good SEO will attract more listeners to podcasts so make sure to use good keywords in your description to appear higher in search engines.

5.  Invite guests to your podcast and show up on other people’s podcasts

This is a great way to catch the attention of more people! Plus it will help for your podcast to be more lively, more interesting conversations. Another point is that your guests can also promote your podcast which will increase the number of listeners! Being a guest on different podcasts will be fun plus you can give credit to your previous topics, podcasts which can increase the number of engagement.

6. Create your own content. Try to be more creative!

Know your audience and try to come up with new, more challenging ideas, topics related to your podcasts. Tell short stories related to your topic or about yourself. Be more challenging and try to persuade your audience with your own ideas! This will definitely make them more focused and interested in the topic you are talking about.
