The world is moving into a more automated scene with Amazon Store in America being a prime example. The first-ever store to have no employees on site but we still find an aspiring South African youth man with the same small business (spaza) in the same corner from his father which of he got it from his father and the story goes on, or the story of the greatly passionate baker that bakes Sunday cookies that every simply can not get enough of as she sells them to churchgoers after church but never seems to make enough to both grow the business and feed her family at the same time.

What does a CBB offer?

It is a consulting business that provides ideas, methodology, instructions, proposals, or anything that the worker can offer to the client as solutions to problems, ideas for improvements, or simply information needed to help small businesses in making decisions. A business consultant from CBB is an individual who works closely with business owners and managers to improve operations and efficiency. Business consulting includes helping to identify, address, and overcome obstacles to meeting a company’s goals. Further explained here.

A marketing strategy plan to get CBB off the ground consists of the following:

  1. Setting goals (short and long term) that are both realistic and attainable goals.
  2. Identifying and understanding the audience
  3. Identifying KPI(s)
  4. Content Creation
  5. Implementing ideas
  6. Resources and tools to use track the progress

Goals

Short term goals

For the business:

  • Work for free for the first 6 months for various small businesses
  • Research more about the rates of consulting
  • Find contracts that do not put me at a disadvantage
  • Learn what are my competitors have to offer

For social media:

  • Open an Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn account
  • Identify the type of content that people are most attracted too
  • Start posting content on all pages within a month

Long term goal

For the business:

  • Up and running after the six months of necessary experience
  • Have a team within 2 years of operating
  • Bring on creatives to work with
  • Work with Vusi Thembekwayo

For social media:

  • Have 1 000 follows on Twitter within a year
  • Have 500 Instagram follows within a year

Knowing your target audience

Your target audience is key as it ensures that your brand interacts with the right type of people who find interest in it. So ask yourself the following questions to better know your audience:

  1. Who are your customers?
  2. The size of your market?
  3. Where do they spend their money?
  4. Why do they buy?
  5. When and how do they buy?
  6. What do they need?

The Main Purpose

The driving force for every business is the mission, the vision, the main purpose of the whole hussle and bussle, knowing that could propel a business in the right direction to success. Questions to ask if struggling to get the answer:

  1. How is this benefiting me?
  2. What are the advantages?
  3. How many people are you going to help with this business?
  4. What are the consequences of not doing this?
